How to increase your motivation
Motivation is the driving force in our lives which compels us to achieve our desires. Unfortunately, especially in the current economic climate, daily life can get in the way, with the results being a lack of motivation and direction. So what can you do to increase your motivation?
Below are a few tips to help:
1) As a means of increasing motivation, set achievable short-term goals. For example, if your ultimate goal is to achieve a particular end product, then break it down into smaller easier to achieve elements, which will inherently increase your confidence and motivation once achieved.
2) Reinforce your own mind set with a positive statement, which highlights the positive. This could be something such as “I am motivated and will succeed” or something more suited to your own personal taste. The key here is to utilise this on a regular basis to reinforce a positive mental attitude.
3) When it comes to motivation, there are few more motivational factors than to publicly state that you are looking to achieve a particular goal. By committing, in a public way, whether this is purely friends and family or social media, the fact that your goal has been publicly stated increases your motivation to succeed by virtue of the fact that others are aware of it.
4) Facing your fears may not be an obvious comment regarding motivation, however it is a well-known fact that one of the key reasons for many people not achieving their desires, in terms of motivation, is due to a fear in some shape or form. Procrastination is another element which highlights a particular issue. The key to overcoming a lack of motivation is to face the fear that is causing the problem in the first place. Although the aforementioned advice may well seem self-explanatory, it is the case that many people still struggle to find a solution to their lack of motivation problem.
