“I seemed to have lost my get up and go, in fact my motivation in general. I felt envious of others who seemed to be really driven and focused on their goals. I couldn’t understand why I was struggling and feeling so lethargic, it just didn’t make any sense. I thought I was intelligent but why wasn’t I motivated to gain the success I deserved”
Motivation? What is it and why do we need it?
Although a rhetorical question, the fact is that it means different things to different people, although the basic premise is the same.
Motivation is the reason we act in a certain way, usually to gain pleasure or avoid pain, for example, we are motivated to earn money to pay our bills and keep a roof over our heads. We are motivated to cook a meal or order a takeaway because we are hungry and want to eat. So at its very basic level, motivation is what causes us to take action to deliver a certain benefit or requirement.
How does this relate to other situations in life? Your level of motivation is in some ways guided by what you want and whether you believe you can achieve it. How you perceive the desired item or situation is directly relevant to your level of motivation. However, some will have lower expectations than others and therefore their levels of motivation may well be less than others. This is evident when looking at individuals involved in activities such as sports. High levels of motivation are required for most sports performers. In order to do well,a person needs to be motivated to participate in regular training, to make their sport a priority and to keep going even when the going gets tough.
Hypnotherapy is a very useful tool to find the reasons behind your lack of motivation. There can be many reasons which impair your drive and energy and by going through the relevant process, a solution can be found. The positive benefit of seeking treatment for motivation is that hypnosis works, so the chances are, within a short period of time, you will become highly motivated to achieve whatever it is that your heart desires.
