Hypnotherapy for Motivation – Case Study
Read Robert’s account of how hypnotherapy helped him with motivation and energy. Thanks to Robert for sharing his motivation hypnotherapy success story.
Robert – MD Own Business – age 56
* I started my business nearly 20 years ago, and worked really hard to get where I am. I had to sacrifice quite a lot though, in terms of family time, which did annoy me over time. The problem started about two years ago, I just felt like I simply didn’t want to go on with anything to do with the business. I couldn’t put my finger on why but I felt such a lack of motivation that I nearly jacked it all in. It was only my wife that persuaded me to carry on, as she thought this was just a phase I was going through, and that I would eventually regret any decision to close or sell the business. At the time I thought she might be right, but after struggling through for another year, I decided to seek help, as it was starting to affect my health, in terms of stress. I looked at all sorts of different options, but eventually settled on hypnotherapy. I looked up a local hypnotherapist and went for my first consultation, with Alix. It wasn’t what I expected, we sat and talked, and Alix made me realise quite a few things that I hadn’t thought about. Bottom line is that Alix has helped me immensely. I now have a new vigour and spring in my step that I had lost.
Alix’s Comments on Motivation Therapy
Robert’s life had become unbalanced as for years he had rarely taken holidays and operated as if he was married to his work . However, over time he began feeling resentful and unhappy. Even though work had always been his passion, he felt he was losing all his drive and motivation. During our hypnotherapy sessions Robert admitted that his father had been very critical of him when he was growing up and no matter how hard he worked, he could never get his approval. Robert felt he was never good enough and this has caused him to be so driven to succeed in his own business. His father has recently died and this brought up a whole range of emotions to the surface.
Robert began to understand what was causing his lack of drive and to recognise the anger and disappointment he had stored up from his childhood. With support, he was also able to release the grief of his father’s death.
Over time, Robert began to regain his motivation and take more holidays as well as spending more quality time with his family. He is also prioritising himself and has taking up golf at the weekends. Our work together helped Robert recognise that he could ask for help without feeling guilty and as a result he has taken on a general manager to oversee the day to day running of his business so that he can enjoy his work and life in general.
