How does hypnotherapy work?
An initial hypnotherapy session begins with a full discussion of your problems and the outcomes you would like to achieve. You will be given a full description of how the process works so you feel safe and secure before the process begins.
With your eyes closed, my voice will gently guide you into a deep relaxed state, where you will let go of any tension and feel comfortable and relaxed. You may be aware of sounds around you but you will be in an altered state of awareness and do not go to sleep.
You will stay alert to my instructions that will bring about positive changes in your life.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
You may be worrying about whether or not you can be hypnotized.
Let me reassure you that hypnosis is a natural phenomena experienced everyday. It’s a daydreaming state where you feel half awake, half asleep, similar to when you first wake up in the morning .You may be aware of the sounds around you but my voice will guide you into an altered state of awareness . In this state your mind is open to suggestion and your unconscious mind can find new ways of resolving your issues.
During the process, will I lose control?
During the hypnotherapy session, you remain in control throughout. You will feel relaxed yet alert. Unlike Stage Hypnosis, you will not be asked to do anything against your will. Your reactions will be monitored throughout the session and the techniques used will bring about positive changes with your best interests at heart.
How do sessions work?
Hypnotherapy helps to bring about positive changes in your life. We work together as a partnership and tailor your sessions to your needs. During the process you will be gently guided into a state of deep relaxation. In this state of hypnosis, a drawbridge of your mind comes down, so you can remember things you may have forgotten and discover what is at the root cause of your problem.
As you become more relaxed and comfortable, your unconscious mind becomes more receptive and open to suggestions .These suggestions will help you find new solutions to overcome your problems.
Most people enjoy hypnosis. It’s very relaxing and allows you to enter a state where you can forget about the days trivia and devote time to working on what really matters to you, whether that’s your anxiety, a goal or a problem that needs to be overcome.
How many sessions will I need?
The majority of clients achieve successful outcomes in three, one hour sessions. Clients with more complex problems may need further sessions to resolve their problems. This will be discussed as your hypnotherapy session’s progress.
Some problems such as giving up smoking and some phobias can be resolved in one session of Hypnotherapy.
How to prepare for a hypnotherapy session
It is important for anyone considering hypnotherapy that your practitioner has undergone thorough training and is accredited with a relevant governing body. It is also wise to check that they are listed on a public register. The National Council for Hypnotherapy has a register of hypnotherapists in the UK and maintains a common code of ethics and practice and its members are expected to achieve a very high standard of training.
Can you guarantee results?
