What is emotional freedom technique

“Jason had been single for many years, and struggled with forming relationships. He put it down to a difficult upbringing with emotionally detached parents, who showed him little affection. After only three sessions of EFT he felt much better and was able to engage in a more meaningful relationships.”

EFT or emotional freedom technique is a form of therapy that involves tapping on the median points that are typically used for acupuncture. The aim is to re-align the body’s natural energy, through manipulation of these points. By tapping these energy points, the individual experiences a feeling of relaxation and inner calmness which invigorates them.

There are many times in our lives where we feel out of sorts or overloaded, not due to illness but from an emotional perspective. This can be due to a wide myriad of reasons such as work stress, difficult relationships or experiencing loss or perceived rejection. It is during those times that EFT can provide a lifeline that can bring emotional stability when needed most, by restoring the balance of body and mind.

EFT is most effective when utilized with positive affirmations or hypnotherapy. The process has a calming and re-energising effect that brings the body’s energy back into alignment. It is widely used to help people overcome negative emotions, or desires, such as food cravings as well as dealing with pain relief. Alternatively it can be used to enhance motivation to achieve goals and new healthy behavior patterns.

Working with a qualified EFT therapist provides a multitude of benefits including learning how to master the technique to the point where an individual is able to replicate the process themselves, whenever they feel the need. It literally becomes a skill that can last a lifetime.
