New Year is a time when many of us get the urge to start fresh…
Finding Your Success Formula
We all have the desire to succeed, although our goals in life may be very different. Whether you want to succeed at work, in romance, achieve health goals, or meet a financial target, you’ll need a structure to help you. You may have tried a “success formula” before that hasn’t been helpful. It’s likely that this was someone else’s formula for success imposed upon you. We are all wired differently with different fears, preferences and barriers so we all need to find our own personal formula for success in order to truly thrive.
Here are my tips on how to start doing this.
Figure out what’s holding you back
This could be any barrier or hurdle that you are struggling to overcome. Examples include:
- Fear
- Lack of confidence
- Repeating behaviours
- Negativity
- Doubt
Visualise success at every opportunity
We need to develop the ability to understand what success looks like for us, and then visualise this clearly at every opportunity. This helps you remain on track and can give you an important confidence and motivation boost when progress seems difficult.
Develop a clear and concise value set
Explore your own inner beliefs and values. What is it that truly motivates you? What do you want to accomplish and what sacrifices seem reasonable to you in order to reach that goal? As we move towards one goal it’s important for our own wellbeing that we navigate the road carefully with a considered approach. This ensures we can enjoy the journey as well as the destination.
Learn to focus
Focus and concentration are skills that can be taught and that improve with practice. Many of my clients come to me saying they are unable to focus. Sometimes busy minds need training to relax and block out distractions or something on a subconscious level is fighting for attention and blocking progress. Dealing with these issues leaves the mind free to focus on other things.
Reward accomplishments
When we’re striving towards a goal, especially one that is far reaching, it’s easy to lose track of the present moment. Keep track of all your accomplishments and successes along the way and reward yourself for reaching targets. By taking the time to appreciate the wins and losses you can take stock of your progress, learn from the good and the bad and realign where necessary. Learning what works for us and what doesn’t will speed our way to success.
Life Coaching for Success
I have helped many clients find their own personal success formulas using Life Coaching. Through this partnership, we work together to plan, implement and assess goals and discover the methods that work for them. Finding your “success formula” is about discovering what success looks like for you and what you can do to achieve it.
I will help you get down to the real reasons you are not thriving – releasing stuck patterns, unloading unwanted barriers, fears, challenges and any other internal issues that keep you stuck and unsuccessful. Together we can make you more focused, more productive and ultimately more successful.
